LED Lenser M17R and P17R Flashlight Announcement

Flashlight manufacturer LED Lenser, world renowned for their adjustable focus flashlights, has announced two new high powered LED flashlight models – the M17R and the P17R.  Both are serious flashlights designed for long range illumination.

The LED Lenser M17R really packs a punch.  It’s got an 850 lumen output in high.  That, combined with LED Lenser’s patented Advanced Focus System (AFS) means that this light will shine for an incredible 1,476 feet!  The M17R is definitely not a pocket light – it measures just over 16″ long.  One of the coolest things about the M17R is the battery technology.  It uses 2 rechargeable Li-FePO4 (Lithium-Iron-Phosphate) batteries that can be recharged more than 3000 times and maintains 90% of its capacity after 2000 charges.  The technology actually mimics that of a hybrid car battery – pretty neat!  Another unique thing about the M17R is its magnetic charging cradle that will automatically turn the flashlight on in a power outage.  The low power setting on this light of 120 lumens will actually last for 2 days.  This means that you will always be prepared for the next big storm.

The LED Lenser P17R is kind of like the little brother to the M17R.  It has the same advanced battery technology, but it will only have a 400 lumen output in high.  This is meant to maximize the run time of the battery (over 10 hours in high!) while still giving you that long range illumination of 1,377 feet.  It will have two output levels – 400 lumens high and 60 lumens low.  Like the M17R, the battery charge time is 2 to 3 times shorter than standard batteries, which is great if you are in a rush.
