SureFire EB2 Backup Flashlight Review

The SureFire EB2 Backup Flashlight is the new 2-cell version of their popular EB1 single-cell flashlight.  Similar to the SureFire E2D LED Defender ULTRA flashlight, the SureFire EB2 produces 500 lumens in high, and has specialized TIR optics over the lens to produce a nicely balanced beam pattern.  Let’s take a closer look at the specifications:

SureFire EB2 Backup flashlight

SureFire EB2 Backup LED Flashlight

Overall, the Surefire EB2 seems like a very well designed flashlight.  The body feels well-made with the typical SureFire build quality.  It also has a nice lock-out feature on the tail cap.  If you unscrew the tail cap about 3 full turns, the switch will not activate.  This is helpful when you are storing the flashlight or transporting it, to prevent accidental activation of the flashlight.

Another neat feature of the SureFire EB2 Backup flashlight is the nice two-way pocket clip.  This way you can choose whether you want to store the flashlight head down or head up in your pocket.  The metal clip seems very strong.  Just a heads up – the clip is not removable, so it would not be ideal for mounting to a weapon.
