The SureFire E2D Ultra is actually a very nice upgrade over the previous model. The TIR optics over the lens gives it a different beam profile than the SureFire Fury flashlight, which is also rated at 500 lumens. The E2D Ultra is also a little bit slimmer and lighter than the Fury, and knurling on the body helps you get a more secure grip on the light. Also, because the E2D has a more efficient LED than the SureFire Fury, it will run about 45 minutes longer in high. That’s a big bonus! Overall, I think the SureFire E2D LED Ultra flashlight is definitely worth a look.
